Hi lovelies! Welcome back to my blog. This will be the last and final entry on my BRATsLangkawi adventure.
Day 3
For Day 3, we visited a mangrove site where we actually learnt about how mangrove trees really helps create a cleaner ecosystem for us and is also an essential to thousands of species. We interviewed Mr. David Bradley where he shares about his journey from Melbourne to Langkawi and his passion for cleaning up the ocean :)
Day 4
We stayed up the whole of last night in room 5133 just chatting idlely and playing truth and dare. Whatever happened in room 5133 will stay in room 5133 :p
But we went to bed at 4:30am and woke up at 5:30am with an hour's worth of sleep to catch the sunrise.
We walked all the way down to the beach and it was a long walk (trust me). The sky was still dark and the stars were beautiful, How I wished I had brought my DSLR down to capture the scene because honestly no words could describe the beauty of God's creation. We stayed there just staring at the night sky, admiring the beauty of it, while talking. The air was cool and the ocean breeze was omnipresent; the ambiance was just lovely. We stayed there till dawn approached and headed for breakfast.
We swiftly finished up all that's left of our assignments and then came the closing ceremony.
We had little time before our flight so we decided to stop by a few duty free shops to buy some chocolates and souvenirs. (very malaysian, i know. but who could pass up the opportunity for cheap chocolates, am i right?)
I was flying back with Adam, Nicholas and James. Our original flight had already been delayed to 8:50pm but upon arrival at the departure hall, we found out that it had once again been delayed to 9:20pm.
I sat with James on the way back and we talked the whole journey despite how tired and horrendously sleepy we were.
And we finally arrived at the airport at 11:15pm!! I met up with my family and they wanted to grab some supper before returning home and they opted for KFC.
When I reached home I flopped onto bed and hibernated for 12 hours straight.
And that's the end of my entire trip! BRATsLangkawi had been such an eye-opening experience and I had learnt so much more to journalism than I ever had before. I feel so blessed to have met the people I did and made the friends I had. Hopefully there are more camps like this to come.
Thanks for reading,
Janelle
